Our Routine

At Little Gem's pre-school we have three sessions 8:30am-11:30am, 12:00pm-3:00pm and 8:30am-2:30pm.
Morning and afternoon sessions mirror one another to ensure every child is engaging within the full routine.
Firstly...

The main gates are open at 8:30/12:00. All children say goodbye to their grown ups and make their way up the ramp. Members of staff are on hand to support individuals.
Next...

Free flow - This means children have the option to play within both rooms and outside. Practitioners support interests of children, giving them many opportunities throughout the day to make their own choices.
Also...

Rolling snack - Children can decide when they feel hungry/thirsty and choose when they have snack. This avoids interrupting play opportunities.
After...

Toileting - Nappy changing takes place throughout the session. When potty training starts to take place at home, please let us know and we will continue at pre-school.
Then...

Group activities take place spontaneously during sessions each day. Some of these include:
Ring games - Parachute, Farmers In His Den & Hokey Cokey!
Yoga
Stories
Songs and musical instruments
Honey Bear game
Den Building
Finally...
Lunch time - Children can bring a healthy lunch from home to enjoy with their friends!
Home time - your child will be released through the main door.
